Quite a long way from the top
Looking to change for more oomph on the road, 800XC in the frame together with F800GS. Might also include a 990 Adv in the mix
Will be 80% - 20% road biased riding with trips to Pyrenees, Morocco and jollys to places like Salisbury plain
Wondered if the XC is as accomplished off road as the Tenere? MPG a factor too,

test ride one first
I wasn't keen, engine too wizzy triumph dealers quite easy with test rides :thumb

Buddy of mine has the 660, lovely bike, took my 800XC for a spin recently and was very complementary though he didnt go off road, I can vouch for its capabilities though

Rode through miles and miles of this

Nice pics :beerjug:

Been in and out of dealers all week looking at 800XC, F800GS & 990 ADV. To be honest (without the benefit of test rides) none made me feel they were so much better than my Tenere they'd be worth the £4-5k I'd have to add to do the deal :nenau Maybe when the economy recovers I'll try again

But I did find and lust after a XT1200Z, lovely bike in the flesh

Its not soo bad dropping a tenere that you already own ,as opposed to dropping a new/800 whatever that has just cost you that extra 4k:blast

Only you know what cash you have to play with and what you want out of the bike.
But remember using any bike off road is going to de-value it a bit compared to the equivilent having been used soley on road.

Jesus the 800tiger is a country mile in front of the tenere I've had 4 tenere,s now all bought as my offloaders and used, the tiger on road is soo much better and off road much more fun heavier that I grant you but never the less so much more bike, I've also had 3 800 gs,s they are better than the tiger off road but no where as good on

Hi adventure boy
This is bob who bought one of your xt660's ( white one ) from loughton
How are you mate?
You don't happen to know how to rivet a new chain do you mate?
I don't have a clue and bought new chain and sprockets and genuinely
Ain't got a clue how to rivet.
Thanks mate bob

Picked up my new Tiger yesterday. Only went out for about 20 mins but it feels like a good bike. I like it.

iv had my tiger about 8 months now, i find it better than the yam, its more versatile,
i tried a a few gs800,s but they were more vibey, and nots as nice to ride, yes the triumph is revvy, but its also capable of pottering about in top gear quite happily, on road i find it great for touring....
