Hello All

Help/Advice wanted, Have just got Nuvi 550 for my GSA together with the power cable for mounting.

What is the best way to connect the lead? Have I got to run it straight from the battery? or can it be run from somewhere else? it has a 1amp inline fuse in it.

Also because it has a mini USB as the connection am I right in thinking I cannot cut the lead and run from auxiliary power point?

Cheers

I bought a relay and wired it into the lights, this way the gps powers up and off when the lights are on. Not really important for GPS but I have my heated grips running off of it too.

Word of warning, make sure you tuck away the connecter when not using as it easily gets damaged when turning the bike. They are fairly expensive and I have broken two already....

My 2p FWIW ... suggest you resist buying anything orf fleabay which is cheap and likey to use loudspeaker grade cabling for power circuit connection.

Consider and look at bike specific products, they are out there and use automotive grade cables ...
