Happiness is

Sold my X challenge in March and bought a 690 enduro (wot a mistake), as look would have it I managed to buy back my old X challenge on Saturday and had a nice blast around the Peaks, just like putting on a pair of comfy old slippers.

My bike lived in Felixstowe before i got her and although only 2584 miles, the fastenings were corroded :(.
So i used Max BMW - http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/fiche/PartsFiche.aspx
T0 find all the correct size and ordered Stainless Allen bolts via eBay and changed the over, hence the new engine bolts........

.......

.. and the rubber bands? ;):D

Some great additions to the bike Ash, the stainless bolts look really well:thumb. Does your list include engine bars?

Did I show the special 'bracket' I made?

I like making brackets ;)

It's not on the 'bike all the time, but I can put it on in two minutes if I was to go where petrol stations are thin on the ground ... but at 80mpg ;)

The bracket ...

You've removed the BMW Rectifier Cover too:augie

Despite the warning, I never had a problem with mine for the 5 years on the XChallenge, even in the warmest of conditions:D

I like that Micky,
I used a bracket from a quad on mine if I'm going for a long distance.
Also If I have a long motorway run I clip in a screen from a 1996 bandit S.

:D

Took her into Banhstomers today for her BMW recalls, rear chain roller and a bracket for the brake pipes by the headstock.

Whilst i was there i ordered a new side stand as the standard one is too long for me to get on the tall bike.
The standard 2007 item is - 46 53 7 696 867 SIDE STAND - L = 304MM
The 08-09 item i ordered is - 46 53 7 716 440 SIDE STAND - L= 250MM
Which makes it much easier to get on.

Below is a piccie of my interim Yamaha YBR 125 stand fitted, until my new one arrives from the Fatherland :ronno

Also whilst in the workshop i got the guys to link her to the BMW GT1 computer and got the ECU updated to the last update, which makes quite a difference to the bike, much smoother and Woooooooooooooosh...........:D
