Hi,
Can anyone on here advise what options I may have in removing the cat from my 2000 reg R1100R?

Are there Y-pieces available like the GS or complete systems?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

My mate got one of these exhausts from Poland for his R1100RS and was well impressed with the price and quality and the sound is just a hoot!

If the link has expired then search the seller LINK and items for sale

can't you rod it out and keep the original collector ?? just an idea its what we used to do with cars bash it through and tip it out wear a dust mask and dispose responsibly

R1100R is not a catalytic system

So you cant just rod it out

There won't be a Y piece as the down pipes have a 2 into one connector, actually it looks like the same as the RT, which I have a Remus centre piece for,

Though I was planning on re using the silencer on my 80Gs project!

Remus centre piece if you already have the can. It's available separately. Alternatively pick up a cheap original on cat exhaust.

What ever you do either re cat code it or just unplug the sensor

Fitting the decat pipes and after market can save a rather appreciable amount of weight which is quite noticeable when manhandling it. The extra noise is obtrusive and irritating so try and listen to someones bike who has already done the mod preferably ride pillion with them.

On the whole as much as the noise annoys me, id rather save the weight and the extra dB is proving very useful for alerting vehicles to my presence as I ride most days about 20 miles to work in busy traffic with lots of filtering. If I rode occasionally for fun I'd keep some combination of the OE system with either a decat pipe or after market silencer.

You need something like this…
