I dropped the clutch at 7 am and “bagged” 3 more Lochs on a 230 mile jaunt.

A82 closed at Balloch for some reason so I travelled on some new roads via Rhu.

Gare, Fyne and Ba

Was scorchio by the time I got home at 2.

There were hunners of bikes on the move - why I don’t normally ride at weekend - thankfully going the other way.

Groups of up to 20 bikes. No thanks.

Chickened out with a splash of fuel in Crieff when Range was a bit less than distance to home.

Took a birl over the Lammermuirs at the weekend with a wee go at the Herring Road, a right of way which goes from Whiteadder to Dunbar. The access is pretty steep and they've dumped a whole lot of outsize chuckies so discretion won out and I bottled out half way up. There are other approaches further down Whiteadder so I'll have another look later in the year.

Popped out to our most northerly mainland point.
A pleasant wee run and as can see good visibility.

Down the A7, then to Innerleithen and the old toll road to Traquair. The tale about the locked gates is that they will not be opened until another Jacobite sits on the throne. That'll be a while then! It's already been 275 years!

Then via the Gordon Arms to Megget. About a kilometer down the Megget road is Henderland and on a wee knoll just off the road, the grave of Cockburn of Henderland. I knew bugger all about it until I strolled over to this info board at St Mary's Loch and stopped for a look

I must have ridden past Henderland dozens of times and never knew it was there. Every day's a schoolday.

Over to Tweedsmuir and then home via the Red Barn for lunch. Very nice too! :thumb2

I am loving that bike, Pete.

Ta Paul. I did a partial refurb during lockdown. There's a thread somewhere. It's now at the stage where I'm happy to take it for a run and maybe even try a bit of undemanding off roading. If I spent more cash on a respray and rebuilt the wheels, I'd be very reluctant to do all that!

The 724th anniversary yesterday of William Wallace getting a hammering at Falkirk. I took a birl to the Wallace stone where he's said to have watched Edward I marching from Linlithgow. Grand view but a bad decision to stand and fight!

Not for nothing was 'Longshanks' known as "The Hammer of the Scots" :blast.

His son (Edward II) was a different story . . And lost Bannockburn ;).

Bob.

It was a bit toasty yesterday with 30 degrees showing up a few times.

Unfortunately no pics but saw a beautiful and graceful eagle whilst we were on the B827.

Got a pass out today and set an early alarm. Hit the start button at 0640h and headed for Appin.

Some funny mist stuff came down at Loch Lubnaig, but all was well with blue sky as soon as I turned left at Tyndrum towards Oban.

Hardly a car on the road. Roads so quiet I averaged 50 mph without trying.

Was too early for a snack at Castle Stalker cafe so headed onwards and took a pit stop at Ballachulish.

I didn’t know it was a world famous slate supplier long ago. Lots of little white slate company cottages long gone along with the slate quarries.

Then down through Glencoe, Lochearnhead and Glen Devon.

Was brill.

Played fuel tank roulette with range less than distance home. Made it with only -7 on the range figure. And how did I get more than 18L into an 18L tank?
