Spotted the sticky closed thread on here about Zumo 550 digitzers failing.

Well mine did the same, totally useless.

So I decided to have a go at fixing it, I got a set of Torx screwdrives from Amazon for £6, you need the small ones T6, T7 & T8 and they neet to have a slim shaft to go into the recesses.

I got a replacement digitizer from Ebay (home_base_repairs) for £11.99 it the exact same size as the one I took out, so no water ingress issues. Took me about 20 mins to do it and it now works like new.

Saved me £300 on the replacement I was planning to get for Christmas.

thanks, bits ordered this morning.

Hope it goes well. The trickiest part is getting the old digitizer off. Just work around it and cut through the adhesive. Mine broke but as long as the glue is cut through it will be fine. The glue band is about 3mm thick all the way around the outer edge.

You could always buy the complete unit (lcd and digitizer as one) about £19.00, just incase you crack the lcd, a word of advice though, there are are 2 or 3 different sizes, so be sure to order the correct size.
