Time this was updated to include the 1250 :nenau:augie:p:D

But it’s not the best GS yet?

Leaking front calipers

Engine and internals faulty & having to be replaced

TFT going AWOL

It’s a pale imitation of earlier GS like the 1100 and 1150’s

I want to change my vote from the 1200 to the 1100. Looks like they got the oil head right first time

They did
My new R1100GS was the only GS that I didn’t modify in any way whatsoever
Completely stock for 30,000 miles

Spot on. The 1100 is a magnificent machine and if I had to choose just one bike to do everything, it would be a nicely sorted 1100GS.

Even though I really like my 1200 TC, my vote was for the 1100 - if nothing else it’s the best looking GS IMHO.

Strange isn’t it . I’ve had all the others from 1150 onwards but the one that got me thinking about having a GS was the the 11 when I saw them blasting around Berlin in 1997 .I can’t get enough of the 11 .

My 1100 , purchased after my 1150 , was a better bike . I preferred the 5 speed box, but a few of things had been improved on my 1100 by the previous owner, superb MRS screen and tank deflectors, Corbin seat with removable back rest, online front and rear:bow

If you can't get a decent 1100, just buy a 1200 or 1250, take out one set of spark plugs, never use sixth gear, and strap a sack of potatoes to the pillion seat. That'll give you the same effect, I'm sure.

There were some great features of the 1100 and 1150 that have been lost along the way, but to pretend they're better all round bikes is stretching things a bit.

Its not as simple as. how many people voted for each model , you need to factor how many people own each model and how this would influence there vote .
What we need here is an Algorithm.

Plus, for the R1200GS(A) we have single cam and twin cam hexheads and then the WCs (the early ones with the lighter flywheel weren't popular [my wife had one and didn't like it]).
