Recently fitted the replacement calipers supplied to me by A&D Motorcycles who continue to come up trumps as a dealer. Great people great service
The replacements (for those that don't know) are due to a safety re-call due to the originals rusting up and causing the brake to stick and drag, sometimes causing the brake to lock on quite firmly.
Replacements have treated pistons to prevent rusting and anodised bodies so the sticking should be a thing of the past.
Whiles't at it i decided to fit EBC HH Sintered pads in the front and yes, i have to say there is an improvement in retardation power
Still not brilliant by any means but yes, better.
Took the bike out for a test ride and got into some local gnarley lanes and ended up with a broken rear carrier
The rack, after 3 years had given in and broke where they usually break.
I fitted a small ally top box pretty much at the start of my ownership which generally had nothing in it but it's weight combined with much off roading with the resultant flexing of the tubes caused
the tubes to break depositing the box in the road behind me. Glad to say, as the box is one of Vern's World Beaters it sustained no damage but left a dent in the bit of tarmac that was present
I now have a replacement used one on it's way to me which will get beefed up before going on the bike
Off out on it today to meet up with a right Tosser for lunch (Stu, Brut33) who will no doubt be on his Harley but, perhaps he'll be on his BMW, we'll see.
