New Multi V4

It looks better in the videos than the still shots ,
They’ve advanced it quite a bit from the 1260.
Useful stuff like backlit switch gear and integrated nav, plus a pocket with USB for charging phone .
Plus of course the radar cruise control .

Looks like the ducts below the tank should aid heat distribution too.

Better ground clearance than the 1260

I'm sorry to say that I don't like the looks as much as the previous models; in particular the short black snout looks too much like the pre DVT 1200.

Bagsy the Enduro Model. :bounce1

Where do I sign up? :nenau

That must be coming later as wasn’t mentioned.

Meanwhile..

Isn't this the 'enduro' - it has a 30l tank so all it needs is a bash plate/sump guard?

The V4S Sport looks quite nice. Apparently there’s more announcements over the next 4 weeks, so it’ll be interesting to see if they announce the PP with 17” front wheel.

i think its 22lt tank i liked it but where does the weight come from

Looking a bit deeper and off the cuff comparisons to me 1260 Pikes Peak

At least 11KG heavier ( more in reality as i have full termi system) for an extra 10BHP ( or less in reality as i have the full Termi system) and that is at considerable revs, 10500 IIRC

No Ohlins and a 19 inch wheel ...

The torque figure is up admittedly but again it is at higher revs than the 1260 Max torque

Some very nice tech on it but i question as to wether or not i need radar cruise and blindspot mirrors. The dash looks fabulous though does it not.

Looks on paper like it is becoming the riding experience of the S1000XR which for me isnt the point of a Multi.

Oh and the fucking price ......

So on paper it isnt for me but that comes with the caveat of i need to ride one .....

The more I read, the less interested I am in the new V4. They’re focussing too much on taking GS sales, and pissing off a lot of current Ducati owners.

All the talk of the off-road abilities of the bike, coupled with the 19” front wheel, 170 section rear tyre, hideous double sided swingarm, heavier weight, and it would appear this is quite a bit different to what a Multistrada should be.

Let’s just hope there’ll be a more road focussed version announced soon, or they’re going to alienate a lot of current and potential owners.

V4S with centre stand, panniers, heated grips and seat is £19,645 according to the Ducati configurator. Ouch!!!

By the time it’s been out long enough to remove the worry about being a Beta tester for Ducati I might be interested in buying one as a retirement present for myself.
