Five down, 25 to go! If I do one a day, I'll be finished by when we might be back on the road.

Creating the routes in BaseCamp is the relatively easy bit. Adding in the hotels (not all of them are listed, even in Open Street Map) and the sights and sights, takes a while. On a Mac the Waypoint carries all sorts of additional information, for example, telephone numbers. To this you can add comments and links to relevant websites. These I have been including, too. I guess (hope) they display the same on a conventional PC.
It's an interesting enough task and having only visited Scotland once (outside of rugby) for many years, I have learned some bits and pieces. One little thing I did notice is that the Skipness Seafood Cabin closes its doors in September and does not open again until the end of May. I was then thinking that, fingers crossed, the Covid-19 mess might not hit them too badly. Unlike the poor sods running regular hotels and boarding houses. Still, maybe a good opportunity to get busy with the decorating.
Putting all five routes into one file shows how easy it would be to cut’n’paste some around to make a pretty good holiday. Already I can see that, without too much effort, it would be possible to ‘Do the borders’ without too much difficulty.
