Hi All,
Looking for somebody in Oxfordshire with a GS-911, (don't say BMW Dealer :))
to program in two new Cheap TPMS sensors I have bought (I tried replacing the battery
but snapped off the contact -damn).

I think you will need someone with a GS911 and a wake up tool . The sensors don`t normally come with the codes even if you purchase them from BMW, never seen a cheap one come with a code.
The GS911 will let you clear the existing codes from the ecu and when you wake up the new sensors with the tool it will display the codes and write them to the ecu.
It only takes a few minutes, must be someone local to you with the kit.

eBay seems to have loads of bods with gs911s ready to fault read/clear.
What you want however will cost a life unless it’s a pro version

Good point, I upgraded mine a few years ago to pro as I ran out of slots, so I tend to overlook that point now the pain of paying has eased..
Probably as cheap to use the Motoscan app by the time you have paid for a GS911 slot, again you would need either the pro or ultimate version (need to check) and borrow an OBDlink or similar + adaptor cable.
I have found it easier with the GS911 than the Motoscan app.

Strange how we’ve ridden bikes for years, long before TPS arrived. I would always know within seconds that my tyres had a problem, and I’ve had loads of punctures over the years.

As the batteries in the TPS don’t last for ever, at 8 years old, mine are probably near the end of life. When they eventually fail, I’ll be looking to disable the system somehow, rather than replace, even though I have an GS-911 so could easily program a replacement.

Would obviously be prepared to contribute financially to said assistance, as a GS-911 is circa £300 and will only do 10 bikes, £40 or so would seem like fair exchange?

BMW dealer would prob only charge you that.

Consider buying the motoscan ap and bluetooth adaptor. I have this and its brilliant can reset service indicator, run abs pump etc for servicing. Even changed the tyre pressure from BAR to PSI. See https://www.motoscan.de/ use google translate for English.

Did you finally manage to disable it without having the red light on the display?

You only need the wakeup tool if you don't know the codes of the tpms replacements. They normally come with a sticker with the codes on it. If you have the codes, you just punch them into the ecu with a GS911. If no code you need the wake up tool to read the code from the new tpms when installed, then you input said code into the bike. This what a BMW tech told me as I have also ordered some sensors to replace a faulty tpms sensor, but they haven't arrived yet.

This is correct, but I have not seen any codes for the Chinese sensors arrive with the sensors and when contacted the suppliers are unable to supply the codes. The cheap wake up tool is an easy option as it writes the code to the ECU.
As you say the OEM BMW senders should come with the code on a sticker, When a friend purchased some from BMW the code stickers were missing as the dealer wanted to charge him for coding them !!!, He returned them to be exchanged for units with the code stickers.

I'll wait and see when mine arrive, apparently from the reviews from the supplier I bought mine from, they are labelled the same as the oem BMW one. On the wake up tool front, my understanding is, the tool just reads the sensor and displays the code, you then have to access the ecu via a GS911 or similar and input the code manually, nothing is written to the ecu by the tool. But I guess there are different tools. The other snippet is, not all tools work, so you need to do some research to find one that will read the BMW sensors. But again this is all theory as I haven't tried yet, but had advice from an independent BMW specialist and a tech at my local dealers.

If you have a spare pair of slots when the sensors are woken up it will write the codes to the slots. They just appear there when the sensors are awakened.
The Hexheads have 4 slots - 2 pairs of wheels.
If no spare slots are available you need to clear them with a GS911. not sure if the motoscan app will clear them as I always go straight for the GS911.
Good luck with your sensors, I had some with obscure codes which when read with a very expensive professional code reader (which had successfully read the codes of other Chinese sensors) showed the codes had letters as well as numbers.
I thought that I would have to bin them until I cleared the codes from an ECU and woke them up and the correct codes appeared.
The wake up tools are only approx. £6 I find it handy as it is not necessary to fit the sensors to get the codes, and they can be tested without having to ride the bike.
As you say the Chinese sensors are identical with BMW on them and the BMW part numbers.

I replaced one on my C650 Sport and didn't need to reprogram the bike to recognise or accept it.

It was bought from Ali Express.

Could it be similar to BMW cars in that you can swap wheels and the sensors work without the need for programming or pairing?

If the C650 Sport can accept pairings for 2 sets of wheels that would be possible as when the sensor woke up it would write to the a spare slot.
The sensor could have been awakened by riding it down the road or rapid deflation of the tyre i.e. when the tyre was inflated to pop it on the rim without a valve in.
Folk have claimed these methods to work to wake up the sensors I have tried them all but never been lucky.

The replacement sensor I fitted on my C650 woke up and started working when I rode the bike.

Had a look on eBay, loads of tpms wake up tools. Is there a specific one for BMW motorcycles or are they all the same?
