Needed a project over lock down, here it is, bought as an abandoned rebuild, 29 k miles in a sad state, having stood for approx 5 yrs, 2 house moves, one country move. A result of 4 weeks devotion to a cause.

Here's a classic example of the dreaded engine paint flake....

Good luck.

I have a Funduro, the amount of paint flaking of the aluminium is quite comical! Still, I quite like these, great do it all bike if a little breathless at higher speeds. Been my daily ride for about the last 6-7 years. Check that rear subframe at the rear as it can vibrate into little pieces under the tail fairing. And I see you have already found the joys of the multilink rear suspension.........There is a guy on ebay that does the complete kit here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-F-65...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 which is handy.

Check the intake manifold rubber they crack badly and draw air

And the wiring to the Rect reg unit especially if its still under the seat (Marvellous move by some designer Not!!)

Usually they get moved out to the airflow and away from under your bollix!!

Looking forward to rebuild pics etc

Good points actually. I have had to replace both on mine. The reg/rec I have done 3 times now, this time I fitted a Motorworks supplied "uprated" one which seems to have lasted, still in the stock position tho.
