Does anybody here run a PR7 or have any experience of them :nenau

I've found some info but I'd like to find out a bit more about them as there seems to be scant real world info out there................

Adv Spec rider Greg Villalobos has one, on long term test ownership and has done some distance off-road-TET etc

Connect with him on FB and ask him

The bloke who bought my KTM 640 8 years ago :)eek:) has recently switched to a PR7. He's not on here, but has posted some stuff about it on Facebook, Kelvyn Skee.

Local KTM dealer is an agent, and did have a display of the whole range at one time. I thought they looked slightly "shed built" compared to more mainstream products, but very nice all the same.

Would make possibly the ultimate TET bike I'd have thought.

That's sort of where I'm coming from.........it's the same engine as my old Husky (one of the bikes I wish I'd never sold) so I'm confident on the mechanicals, I love the fact it's relatively light, it's just the 'shed built' bit that very slightly concerns me. There's scope to improve the rough edges but cost wise that may start putting it into 701/690 territory?

The question is would removing those rough edges make it a better bike for your needs than the Austrian versions?

I know I spent a lot more than any one with any sense would have done on my 501 but it’s a riot to ride, can carry the crap I hoped it would and there isn’t a new alternative.

Buy the AJP and make it the bike you want it to be :rob

I wouldn't worry about the shed built comment. I could have equally said it looks a bit real life rally bike.

Everything I've heard about them is good.

Oh, and I've already spent an additional fortune on my 701 anyway, most recently at Vanasche Motorsports in the US $$$

I did some off road training a couple of years ago. The school was using smaller AJPs and the instructor was on a PR7, admittedly he could ride a bit but in the right hands it’s a proper off road tool. A bit like me.

I went to an off road place near Luton which had AJPs.

I got to have a go on an Ultrapassar for the day as I was thinking of buying one at the time, however, the 200cc engine was too small for the distances I wanted to do on the bike, as well as riding off road.

The PR7 does look like a capable bike, and I would consider if I was in the market for a 'new' bike.

Si Forder at Vines BMW runs one. Very, very capable regardless of how good you are.
Tech wise they’re very good too and they’ve kept it simple.
