I should bloomin’ cocoa, they aren’t mine.

They just quoted me £976 for the GSA. “I’ve double checked with our specialist advisor and it’s correct”. The two lowest quotes I found were £325 and £308 (Lexham And Cornmarket IAM respectively)

Living in London is a right PITA at times

Cornmarket was good for me living in NI.

Carole Nasher repeatedly insisted my insurance increase was due to change of post code.

Asked twice for confirmation of this from the underwriter -as I did not accept their 'word'

eventually after a few weeks - they admitted that it was not a £50 increase - it was a decrease. !

They are a shower of FRAUDULANT CNUTS - pure and simple. :rob

Ref CN I had a bad no fault crash a few years ago so they gave me a solicitor to use for my claim but it turned out that the solicitor was owned by the same people who owned CN and had a history of getting claimants to settle quickly and for far less than was fair. It was, and perhaps still is, legal but wholly unethical according to the solicitor I did use, Irwin Mitchell.

I’d been with Cornmarket for years, every now and again they’d come in a little high so a quick call and they’d match my lowest quote.

Always happy to do business with the Belfast team. I’d had good service until three years ago when they suddenly priced themselves out of the market after a change of management. Seems that things have gone full circle now

I've been with Cornmarket for a few years now (best cover for my modified bikes, I have found) - and find them great to deal with.

Steven in the Belfast office is really helpful and as you say, happy to match lower quote.

That’s who I dealt with this evening, always had top service from them

Finally left carole nash after many years. Am very impressed with bikesure so far. They seem to have access to more specialist underwriters, or maybe they just try harder.

I am just awaiting them to sort out a quote. My insurance build is causing consternation because it is a deviation from standard a tad. Started life as an X Challenge, mucho work by Mikeyboy back in 2012.

Phone up Cornmarket. They may ask for the written list of mods, with their values - together with a couple of photos of the bike so that the underwriter can see what they are being asked to insure.

I found them to be pretty much unique in their approach to modified bikes.

Récord your calls for a quote

In the last 6-7 weeks I have had two instances where Carole Nash has quoted me a price to insure a bike I was buying and then changed the price (a lot!) when I tried to insure it a short while later (having bought the bike!).

Fortunately in both cases I made detailed notes of the call and the quote. The first time CN went back to the taped call and embarassedly had to honour their quote (and swallow a £350 cost!).

The second time I neglected to note the exact date and time of the call and the agent name. Ultimately I got CN to honour their commitment through a well aimed tweet and many many phone calls.

So my learning is, for the future, to make very detailed notes of such calls and especially the time so I can force CN to go back and check their legal commitments.

I suspect CN may have gone through a recent system change as reference numbers have changed, the agents appeared run off their feet, and the Complaints team phone number was just ringing off.

Not having a go at CN and I am happy with the cover and premium...but not the arduous and chaotic process.

Carole Nash = bunch of feckin chancers , I recently had a renewal offer which was way too high , did a bit of market checking , and went back to them to query the high quote they instantly knocked it back to about where it should have been ,,,,,, just chancing their arm ,,, at a bit of profiteering .
Now insured elsewhere .

I've just put the Versys back on cover , insurance policy due for renewal at the end of March, cover for the bike for 7 weeks a reasonable £8.80 but on top of that a £40 admin fee

Just to be different.
I have just re-newed my 6 wheel = 1 car and 2 bikes fully comp plus Uk and euro coverbreakdown £563
I am happy with that Adrian Flux was near to that price but no breakdown

Been with CN for many years and have always found them to be competitive... :nenau

My current policy covers 7 bikes at £313.92. One of the few things getting older helps with I guess. :rob

I've never had to make a claim with them, that would no doubt show how good they are when the chips are down.

I really never understood why any street leagal/homologated parts fitted to a bike have to be declared.
I'm not considering insured cost in this as I wouldn't generally claim accessories as new mudguards, shocks and battery jump start fittings, as an example.

If it is a recent bike, seems like an almost decent price for London.
These prices are similar to what paid in some other big European cities (without the added grief of having to state how the colour of your pupils and the middle name of your firstborn).

If you are ok with a ginormous excess, MCE can generally quote lower than CN.

interesting one on my recently arrived renewal paperwork regarding what is insured, under Third party cover it states that

'Continental use- we will provide the necessay cover to comply with the laws of compulsory insurance while you are riding in the EU countries and certain non EU countries'

It goes on to list cover for both Third party, fire and theft and comprehensive cover , however, nowhere does it list that fully comprehensive cover is applicable to European use and travel.

Previously the docs have always stated that the full level of cover (comprehensive ) applies to continental travel.......... waiting for an e mail reply from Carole Nash to check on the cover

this is the policy document that applies since Jan 2020 https://carolenash.com/docs/librari...-policy-wordings_online.pdf?sfvrsn=85bb0075_2 from https://carolenash.com/about-us/insurance-policy-wordings

Look at the 2nd part of section 4 on page 6, then consult your new schedule which will list the countries and number of days you can visit them each year without paying extra
