Another one saved from the angle grinder

I have to assume you paid nothing for the bike!

No I paid way over the odds.:blast
But I’m a sucker for a derelict,unwanted bike that’s going to get hacked,then chucked in a skip.:comfort

That said,I’ve had bikes come in for recommission, the new owner had paid double what this cost,
Whilst they looked ok,they needed a motor, gearbox rebuild etc.
At least with this it’s”eyes wide open”.
It was quite a few hundred more than I was happy with but the crank, crankcase etc is lovely so......
I’ve had basics, kalahari’s ,R90s R50’s etc turn up at my door where the customer has paid top dollar for the bike.
And they’ve need big mechanical work.
Chance you take with classics:comfort

The other thing was,it was local,
So no day out in the van with fuel etc:D

Well good for you Mike..Irritates me though when someone comes along to save a machine going into a skip, and they don’t say :okay your price, that’s fair, but screw you for a few extra quid..:nenau

Best of luck with it, I hope the frame is useable. I’m sure you’ve seen worse, as have I (possibly not those pistons though).

Where do these bits go Mikey

They are a non-BMW item that were made to hold your panniers to the frames. Take off the rubber bung (if fitted) to the top rear of the pannier frame, push the 'trunnion' through the frame and the pannier (hole drilling required) then put the washer and R-clip on the inside of the pannier. Then all you have to worry about is the pannier door opening in flight...

The rest of the bike arrived today:D

As is the way of the world,
Airheads are like buses,
A couple turn up together,
One to restore,one to ride:okay

I recognise that bike from when I was bidding.... So glad it's in the right place to get sorted out! Can't wait for the next chapter of the story.

Did the R100S owner remove the engine and use it as a trig point on a mountain somewhere? The rest of the bike seems in much better nick? :nenau:
