I posted a few pics elsewhere but thought I’d start a separate thread in the bike section, as it seems it’s never been mentioned before.
I’ve been hoping that Honda would bring the CT125 Hunter Cub to Europe/UK, but it seems they’re not.
Always liked the look of these since the CT110 days.
BUT, no sign of them coming to UK and even if they did they would be about £ 3500.
Whilst out with a mate the other day I noticed a new Benelli that had just arrived at the dealer.(The oldest dealership in the world !!).
Very vivid colour, nice modern styling and bigger than a Honda Monkey.
The TNT 125. Been out a couple for years but had a refresh for 2020
Also comes in red, white or black if you don’t like the fastest green colour
Possibly perfect for mucking about on the island, but also ideal for my girlfriend to get back on 2 wheels.
She last rode before I met her about 7 years ago.Had a GSXR1000, did track days etc but got a bit fast, had a few scares and lost her nerve....
So, anyway, the bike was on a trade plate and I took it for a spin and was very surprised how nice it rode.
It’s only a 125 and putting out 11bhp, but it’s very smooth and certainly has a bit of pep.
I’m 6”1’ but it’s much roomier than it looks, with a seat height of 780mm and very low pegs.
The bikes use Chinese motor and parts but I think are assembled in Italy.
Whatever, the finish looks great, neat welds,LED lights, brakes very good, light clutch, smooth gearbox, good quality controls, nice dash.
So, decided I’d have it and collected today, in the rain.
I’ve only done 30 miles but no real negatives yet, apart from the seat being a bit thin.
The best bit is the price -£2k dead, though they’re £2300 OTR in UK I think.
A mate has already said he wants one and I can imagine a few of us going away on them. Would be a right giggle.
Fuel tank is 7.7 litre but they’ll supposedly do 120mpg so at least 150 miles on a tank.
Would be a perfect bike for a wobbly box. It’s even got a pillion seat and pegs, though a tight fit.
Cheap Chinese shite ? Time will tell. It’s certainly cheap, but has a 2 year warranty.....
Apparently tyres are shite in the wet-they seemed ok to me but the tyre of choice are these Michelins which can be had for under £100 fitted :
A few pics.
Loads of aftermarket stuff but I shall resist.
Even a full Yoshi system for £400, FFS !!
