Airhead 80-100 G/S Adventure Build

Mike, Tetley, do you build up the engines once they’re in the frame, or do them separately and fit after?

Cheers Teltey, I’ll have a chat with Mrs Nin...

Time for a relax.

I’m surprised the SWT kit didn’t include a reinforced top shock mount which they seem keen on on Advrider. Not to worry though as mine is not strengthened (although I did think about it) and the arm is longer, I think, than yours - no problems so far.

Looks the business, good luck with the rest of the build.

How’s it going Nin - looking forward to seeing some photos (of the finished thing?)

Morning Chas, thanks for the prompt - yes I’m also looking forward to seeing pics of it finished!

I’m back to waiting for others now, the frame is back with the welder for final adjustment, then it’ll go to Daventry to be shot peened, then powder coated, before I start building in earnest.

Cheers Charlie- yours too!

Well a bit of a break through on the front wheel front so to speak.

If I double up the wheel bearings and use 690 spacers it lines up a treat. Very pleased with that.

A little more progress this weekend, getting everything ready for powder coating.

This lot heads off tomorrow, hopefully for a fast turn around.

Then more electrics, my fave.

Sorting out the new high capacity alternator. A bit of cleaning

Fit the new stator and brushes, bit of soldering then we’re ready to fit this.
