Airhead 80-100 G/S Adventure Build

Time to resurrect this thread. The Guzzi is sold and will be leaving soon, bits coming together from Richard Moore and Mikeyboy, and the welder has finished stage 1.

Nin, letting a thread slip to the second page doesn't mean we'll all forget about it. :rob

What's happening??

Well now.

On Tuesday I visit Mr Mike Y Boy to collect the heads, bevel drive, carbs and a few other bits - oh and a nice little Motolug trailer, thanks Magnon.

Then down to Northampton to see Mr Moore and pick up the swing arm, rear wheel, rear shock, rear brakes.

Then we can start the dry build ...

After a long day in the car with visits to Northampton and Holwell it’s beginning to look like the motorcycle equivalent of Santa’s sleigh.

There’s about £4.5k worth of kit in there ...

Right it’s time to start making some progress with this now.

Most of the bits are here - many thanks to Mike at Overland and Classics, Richard at Moorespeed and Herbert at Gletter Engineering, and Sharpsie the welder.

The plan now is to put everything together “dry”, make any engineering changes (fabricate or fit new brackets, adjust existing etc).

Then take it all apart and shot peen, powder coat, paint etc, then rebuild.

So I may be here quite a while!

Thanks to Melch I do have a most excellent 1290 SA-T to ride in the mean time.

So let’s see how it’ll look at full rear suspension travel.

Ah right. That’s not full travel. Well need to adjust the rear subframe. Sharpsie? You there?

Need to sort out the front wheel spacers. Yes I know the axle clamps are gash. They’ll get sorted later.
