Aprilia Tuareg 660

About time he did a review and sums it up perfectly

Dear Aprilia. Thank you. Thank you for making this bike. A bike that many people will never understand, will not buy and will give four stars in a review. A bike that will make people comment about reliability, and dealer networks whilst drooling over CF MOTO's. KOVE's and obscure bikes from niche brands.Thank you for being a challenger with the ability to build quality; for putting good suspension in a bike, good electronics and not charging the earth for it. Thank you for not compromising the bike in the name of a bottom line. Thank you for this week of riding I won't forget. Please keep doing this until it sticks and then do it some more. I hope we meet again someday.Keep making great bikes. Llewelyn Pavey

Llewelyn Pavey knows his stuff , having raced the Dakar and having a legend for a father .

The Tuareg was never really on my radar until I watched Llel’s excellent video last night. I’m really curious about it now, and might have to pop along to Colchester Kawasaki for a test ride…

good idea especially as they have a very good deal on at the moment

Wow what a review ! Made me want to buy one ….how we I’m pleased I bought one of the only two bikes he said could possibly better it ..,.😉

If you keep posting tempting deals like that I’ll be forced to put you on the ignore list (y)

An even better deal on a 2023 bike. Prefer this colour too.

Good film and review.

Nice to see my locale heavily featured (I don't live in Stonehenge). Those whoops towards the end are pretty brutal. I don't take them like that on my FE

Anyone ridden one of these two up, with luggage? Looking at swapping my 6.5 yr old Africa Twin, would ideally like something a chunk lighter but that just brings me down in capacity (obviously really)

I've spent the day checking mine over and even by my very demanding standards the bike was 100% , not a single thing to be corrected on it . I'd had heated grips and a quickshifter added and the dealer install was spot on with all the wiring nice and tidy and everthing fitted as it shoudl be
A lot of you tubers just put up what they think the public will watch - click bate and drama. Nothing changes especially human thinking.

Anyone got any updates of ownership?

Going to purchase one of these in the next few days, anyone happen to be selling theirs? New prices are very good but worth asking first.

I've chopped my Guzzi V7 in for one as I was missing an "Adventure bike" and didn't want a behemoth again or indeed a wankpanzer. So got a great deal from A&D in Denbigh and have my V100 Mandello S Guzzi, along with the Tuareg when I collect it, for just under the price of a fully loaded 1300GS.

I've gone for the Dune movie tribute Atreides black, with quick shifter and centre stand.

I’m torn between the Atreides and the Canyon. Colchester Kawasaki seem to be the best I’ve seen, £8999 plus OTR. I’m going for the quickshifter and mainstand too. We have an Aprilia dealer on the doorstep but they are around £1k dearer! I’m going in on Monday to see what they can do as I’d like to buy local but I don’t think they’ll get close to be honest.

I’m staying with my current dealer mate who are an Aprilia dealer. I didn’t get anything off the bike beyond the current £750 discount promotion thing, but I did get an exceptional trade in deal for my V7 which balances things out well enough, and I’ve got the centre stand and quick shifter included. Add to that A&D in Denbigh are just a great bunch of people to deal with.

Sounds like a good enough deal with the accessories and a decent trade in. I’m just weighing it all up at the mo. I’d rather stay local and pay a bit more but I don’t have a huge amount of confidence in my local dealer, so might be better for me to travel for the right price.

I can heartily recommend Sally or Paul at A&D in Denbigh, and some great roads to ride to get there.
