I seem to remember it was c£10,000

You’d be surprised what the Ural chair bolted to me F800GS cost. Subframe, a pair of wheels, some paint, a few extras, alignment......worth it though for the America’s trip that my late wife and I did with it.

Ural

Done a few little mods to my Rig. The rear box is standard BMW with a chopped GSA rack to mount it.
Running boards fabricated
Reverse from Raceway in the US
HD Police seat
Got some Rox risers added recently

I have to say it fits me rather well now, and its great fun.

.
love that

I met an interesting guy at the ABR festival. He was riding a R100 mystic with sidecar , it had a reverse gear fitted made by a company in Germany . He had also converted it back to mono shock , fitted mikuni carbs and said he could run it with a 15 inch smart car wheel .He also had a Ural and dpner outfits one of which had a bee engine fitted.

This one has actualy been there and done that. It was built for the Winter Treffens by Kevin at MotorWorks. He and a mate took it to three or four (as I understand it) Of the big treffens in Northan Europe.
I did some reasearch a few years ago, shortly after I bought the outfit. It was great to see the rig out there doing what it was put together to do.

These days I only get it out or the garage once every cuple of years, much the same as my solo bike. But I have plans to do a few mods and am determined to get it out next year and propperly use it at least a few times. Each time it comes out All I have to do is put a bit of charge in the battery and off it goes. Just like it was only in there a week or so.

These pics are from when I first aquired the outfit. I have more, but can't find them just now.

Val.

Can you still get Ural’s ?

Can you still get Ural’s ?

Yes you can, around 16000 euros new over here

I was close to buying one a year or two back,

Also have a look at these Changjiang, the new model has a reverse gear, 3 braked wheels and half decent suspension, the motor is a knock off 650 Kawasaki twin made by CF Moto

Cheaper and better than the Ural in my opinion

Just been looking at both the Ural and Chinese websites. It’s a shocking thing to say, BUT,........ the chinky outfit looks better.

But you will want another one an hour later

Oooops Sorry, but, someone had to say it LOL!!!

In reality though the Ural is pretty much a Post war design

You may be right ;) I never have ridden an outfit, its on my bucket list though. The chinky outfit does look quite good though, well sorted. Mind you, looked at the price and was surprised. In the UK its over 14k sterling, in France its less than 14K Euros. Probably about 15% higher priced here. A Lot for a chinky product.
