Thanks for posting - an enjoyable watch. I'm guessing this was done around the late 80s / early 90s.

Part of me did think sod that though; I've ridden in quite a variety of conditions, but getting caught in snow or on ice is something I've endured, rather than enjoyed - and wouldn't intentionally go looking for 3,000kms of icy wilderness to ride around in.

It would be a whole lot different with studded tyres and if I was doing something like that I'd certainly have the studs.
 
good watch. brought back some funny memories, 45c Plus when i was there, found the worst loo in the world at a petrol station, even the flys refused to go in!:yelrotflm
