A popular enough destination and region. Here’s four jaunts from Tourenfahrer magazine 9/2016, all centred on Limoges.

If only to show how a tiny bit of curiosity and surfing on a iPad can take you.

I noticed that the magazine article had a picture of a sign, depicting the ‘Route Richard the Lionheart’, so I Googled it up:

It would be easy to create your own version of it.

Thanks yet again for a great post.
It's an area for pottering about, no use if you're a Boxerlust 190mph speed merchant. Twisty, forested roads and small towns and villages. :beerjug:

Best beef in Europe as well....In Limousin....That whole area is fantastic and not usually inundated with tourists and the people are lovely, I nearly moved there nearly 25 years ago now....How time flies.

Eggsackly that. Some cracking roads around there. The routes (2 & 3) to the south & east only bring you into the start of the Parc naturel régional de Millevaches en Limousin which has some gorgeous quiet roads & lovely lakes. And leads one nicely into the Auvergne, another beautiful area.

Route 4 covers the northern part of Parc naturel régional Périgord Limousin which, although slightly smaller, is also a great area for bimbling around

Brilliant, thanks Richard. I will use part of route 1 to enter limoges and then part of route 4 to exit and visit Rocamdour en route to Sids.

My outlaws used to live in oradour sur veyres, great riding round there, rumour has it Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were going to buy this chateau, never heard of them

If you need a quick break about an hour before Sid's drop us a line and call in to sunny Cazals in the Lot, it will be on the way from Rocamadour, Colin
