You don’t have to do too much scrolling and tapping around in the excellent Tourenfahrer magazine’s website, to see that there is a wealth of good ‘touring’ roads to ride, places to see and things to do. All not a million miles away.

If you try out the ideas in this thread, you are pretty deep into the former East Germany. Just 30 years ago, it would have been challenging to have visited it. Now you can just ride there.

Like you, I hope to get to see more of Germany this year. It is such a large and varied country, there will always be something new.
 
Frankenwald, which I had never heard of but I know enough to know that ‘Wald’ means forest in foreign.
