Morning,

I'm looking to sell my R1200GSA Twin cam and replace it with a CRF250/300L (i've got a R1250GSA in the garage, so not completely insane) to do the TET in the UK etc. Being a bit of chunky lad at 120Kg+ is this a viable bike to be riding? If so, what suspension upgrades should I be looking at?

Hello Stew,
I have also beaten anorexia and ride a 250 L.
I had a YSS shock made to suit my weight & also had it lowered, I believe Hagon do the same.
I’ve used the bike on the road & trails, great bikes.
Hope this helps.

I've got the 250 Rally and had Hagon make a rear shock to my weight 110kgs or so. Not done anything to the forks. The bike rides so much better now. No bouncybouncy back end.
The bike also does not squat down when you take it off the side stand so it's quite tall now.

I have a Rally with the Hyper Pro front fork kit and the replacement spring for the rear and it makes all the difference and well worth the £200 cost in my opinion.

Yes,

Front spring kit - £120
Rear spring - £85

All on eBay - you have use the original Honda damper and of course do the work yourself!

Various other options on there too, K-tech for the front.

I am about 95kg in my gear and it makes it very plush.

Cheers.
