Hi All
Just had a letter from Honda UK advising of a pannier safety recall on my 2018 Africa Twin. It seems that some panniers have become detached when the blade operated by the key does not latch into the right slot on the bike. It asks that I take the bike to the Honda dealer to be instructed on how to secure the panniers on the bike and have a warning sticker applied to each one. My local dealer charges Honda one hours labour for this, around £80.

Clearly Honda feel there is a risk that needs mitigation and to absolve themselves of blame should there be legal proceedings. Does anyone else feel this is over the top or is it just me ?

The recall is free to customers, it is Honda UK that foot the bill as the dealer invoices them, but still £80 is taking the preverbial.

I suspect that will be standard practice won't it? Honda cocks up, its dealers fix it but at whatever their going rate is.
