My car battery was flat, I couldn't get another vehicle alongside to jump it, battery charger is broken and my old powerbank jump starter wouldn't retain a charge.
So after googling solutions and watching the video below I thought I'd give this a try and ordered one for overnight delivery. It came onto the market last year thanks to a crowdfunding scheme. I'll admit to being dubious about the claims but all reviews were positive, still hmmm a batteryless jump starter
It arrived and as there was no residual power in my car battery I needed to charge it up, this was done by a micro usb cable and took around 3 1/2 hours to reach 100% from zero. That was far too long using my laptop and the slowest by far of all three methods of charging.
I cocked up the first attempt and discharged 56% of the available charge, meaning it was too low for a 2nd attempt. So I plugged it into my neighbours car cigarette lighter and it charged back up to 100% within 2 mins!
2nd attempt followed procedure correctly and blow me it fired up as advertised, couldn't quite believe how well it worked
The makers reckon it will last for 10 years and be good for over 100,000 charges. Can't see any reason why it wouldn't work on a bike either.
