Andres

What are you going to do with it Andres ? Looks lovely

First job is to go chuck it in a hedge!

That's what I would do JB :D

Have you changed your MO? When we were in Derbyshire that time, it was walls you were aiming for.

Although, I think you were on someone else's bike then, so that could be it.

I tired walls at the beginning, but they hurt quite a lot, so I stay away from them now (and barbed wire fences too - they can be nasty little buggers).

Hedges are much safer, unless they have a ditch, in which case it can get messy!

Thanks everybody and from my short ride I know I’ve made the right choice - she’s off the road now until I get her properly sorted with all the bolt on tat, sort suspension etc. I want her to be perfect next time I take her out......trouble is I’m stoopid busy with work at the mo......:(

Apparently the accepted thing is to throw her into the scenery, it must be a ‘thing’ with 701s/690s as it’s something I’m really really good at :)

Other than that I’ve spent 2 years carefully considering this (most unlike me!). She will be my everything bike; commute to work, throw her into the scenery, go touring abroad, SM hooligan toy, throw her into the scenery, general here and there bike......I hope I’ve made the right choice as she’s supposed to be a keeper and will hopefully outlive me.

I've had mine 18 months now, am still fiddling with it to get it just how I want it, and haven't even looked at the suspension yet. I'm ashamed to say the springy bits are exactly as they came from the dealer

I've found it's best to ride it and see what you want to change based on that. I can say I waited way too long to shorten the side stand.

There’s something about picking up a new Husqvarna that makes you simply know you’re going to have a riot on it.

I love riding my 501 whether it’s on country lanes or off road because whichever I choose it makes me feel that I can get away with a whole heap of stupidity not just limited to pulling wheelies.

Congrats Andres, looks like a great choice:thumb. I’m looking forward to seeing it with the road wheels and bits and bobs fitted. Enjoy!:beerjug:

I wonder if they have shortened the stand on later ones as mine leans over a good way, if I took 2" I think it'd fall over............ It's certainly nothing like the near vertical position the 1190R one used to put my bike in :nenau Anyway I'll see how it shapes up on the trails............

Re the suspension, yes of course you're right and I was to an extent being my usual flippant self but I do want to check/set the sag and set the suspension nice and soft to help break it in. I'll then play with it once I'm used to it.

All the rest of the stuff is just tat that you and Toddy 'told' me to get, combined with WFH boredom has led to boxes and boxes of shite :D

Lastly, as an aside I went to weigh the stock silencer V the Wings last night; 2.9kg V 'wouldn't even register on the digi bathroom scales' :)

Andres

I made an adjustable side stand for my 950, partly because I was experimenting with suspension so needed it to match.
