O5 1200, rear brake servo not working

Hi,

I have an 05 R1200GS. Last month I got the red flashing brake fault light and the rear brake wasn't working. I saw that the break pedal return spring was broken. So a replaced it. After that I found that the rear servo was not kicking in. The front is working fine.

When I press on the rear brake, the brake light goes on, but no servo assist. When I release the rear brake pedal, I hear a click form behind the tank side panel and that's it. Any help and advice is appreciated.

Sounds like the servo assisted ABS unit has died ....

A new replacement is circ £1200 all from a dealer

You could servoectomise for about £30

removes Servo assist & ABS

or you could find a recon place - who may be able to recon - £400+
