Just started giving my new to me. 1990 100gs, a thorough fettleing.
Before stripping it down to get at the clutch etc, I decided I could not live with that feckin side stand and would need to fabricate something along the lines of a Migsel jobbie.
Anyhoo ... I forgot to measure the distance bottom of frame to ground, so have no idea how long the side stand needs to be.
I wonder if someone who has said migsel style side stand, could kindly measure the length of their stand to give me a rough idea of what I need to purchase.
Thanks in advance :thumb2

You know the e Migsel stand is adjustable for length? I’ll have a look tm though.

Here you go. I took a few more. If you want them too, pm me an email. It’ll be easier than using Tapatalk. :thumb2

Hello,
I'm sorry for my bad English.
I'm also looking for information on the length of the side and center stand....Because I will have to buy both but first I know which size to buy. I'll try to explain better.
I have a R100GS which should be higher than a standard one. At least that's what I've been told. I have to know
I need to know if it is actually taller or if it is like a standard bike.
Looking at the photo,
Can any of you tell me on a standard R100GS what is the distance of point A and point B from the ground with the bike resting on the ground without side and / or central stand?

thank U

Maybe try contacting Motorworks and see what sh stock they have? They'll certainly be able to advise on the bikes the stands will fit.

Edit: you're in Italy? Someone will be along with EU alternatives to MW, I'm sure!

hello, thanks for the answer. I know Motorworks as well as others (motobins, swt, boxersupplies, bmwbayer etc etc). There are standard and extended side and central stands ... and the size is not always indicated. anyway, I need to know if my bike is taller than a standard GS. Not having the possibility to measure a standard GS I wrote here ..

Hiya ... sorry, can't help you at this time, My bike is on blocks with the wheels off.
I'm sure someone will come along and help shortly .... good luck :beerjug:

Right, got that. However, the distances you've indicated will surely vary according to how the suspension is set up? Would you not be better giving us the dimensions of your current stands and asking whether that conforms to ours?

Hi Pete, I have no side and central stand.
You can see a central stand in the photo but it is not the right model.

Anyway on my bike the distances are these.

I seem to remember that BoxerSupplies sold a 345mm center stand for the taller GS - with elongated forks (modified to rally style). Maybe it could be okay.
On the other hand, I have no idea-reference for the side stand.

However, I would like to know the measurements of a standard R100GS.
