I recently removed the rear shock to change the spring, when I reassembled everything I discovered there was no tension in the preload adjuster for more than half of its adjustment travel. I think oil has leaked from it. Is it possible to replace this part rather than whole new shock. Or even better is it possible to get oil into this unit?

Doubtless them in the know will be along shortly but it maybe worth stating the model /type of shock and bike, and also the age. If bike a keeper may be a refurb would the way to go as if allowed to deteriorate for too long a refurb may not be poss? Long time ago now but think I had mine refurbed at Firefox for about £150. Loadsa info on here so worth a search.

Look for Denz0 on this forum.
He is the man for shock information and rebuilds.

If i recall, my 2006 had a similar feel,

as i used to run it soft, it didnt bother me,

But then again i did notice it leaking at one point

i swapped for wilburs

Hi, guys, a lot of them could have similar problems.
This can be solved by changing the Orings and bleeding the adjuster properly.
Maximum piston travel and no air in the system.pictures of the LC dynamic ESA preload adjuster
They fail more often.
