Hi, anyone in the Stoke on Trent, Staffs or South Cheshire areas of the UK with a GS911 and wants to earn a few easy £££

I need to get my fault codes read and ESA calibration checked on my 2005 RT. My rear pre-load adjuster has stopped working, I can however drive it to both its limits by appling +-12v directly to the motor, so the shock itself is most likely OK. I'm guessing it's lost calibration somehow. Damping adjustments on both front & rear are working fine, I also had both shocks completely rebuilt by an ESA specialist last year, so I'm hoping this is just a simple issue :)

Hi Mat,

When was the chassis software last updated at a dealer? My 2005 was 5 or 6 releases behind when I had this done just before sale in 2015. One of the updates changes the maximum stroke of the ESA adjustment so that the strut is less like to move beyond the limit and get "stuck".

Hope this helps....

I even had someone at BMW UK remotely connect to the diagnostic machine to check that the updates had worked.

Hi. Not sure about the software update.... but I basically invested in a USCI-2000 OBD bluetooth interface, OBD 10 pin adaptor cable, Motoscan Ultimate app and a used android tablet. Got it all set up and calibrated the ESA, everything now works fine.

So if anyone in my area needs faults reading and re-setting for a reasonable fee, drop me a message :)
