Hand start, so no problems on my dicky leg

I may not be able to ride on the road anymore, but can still fettle and tinker !
 
Basically a long lever attached to the "kickstart" shaft
OEM equipment by velocette
Bike was made in hall green bham
About 1mile from my Shirley home of 30yrs
But
I'm now in wettist wales

Previous owner has got stuck as the Cambridge County registration offices have been shut to the public since corvid struck
So I'll go for an age related plate first and fight the good fight with DVLA for its original Cambridge County registered number later

Hand start were the earlier bikes I believe.

A mate has a kickstart LE.... nice little things
 
I have the full Circa 1950s uniform

Helmet, tunic,trousers truncheon boots gloves
So
I'm making up a replica police motorcycle radio to sit where
The pillion seat is.ive even got a whip aerial to go with it

That hand crank looks a bit dodgy; if you were to use it to pull it on to the centre stand it would be off down the rd with you chasing it; :D; police spec will suit it well; :beerjug:
 
I've now acquired a set of metal panniers and correct mounting brackets
Need a bead blast and grey paint job

I'll bet that the Blue Tooth will need an update.
 
The bell on the front of that car is a Winkworth Gong; the Met still had them on vans when i joined up, I now have one as my front door bell :rob

Correct
I found x2 at an autojumble in 1995 for £25 the pair
Fully working on the front bumper is one of them
 
I had mine converted to manual for the sake of the neighbours.

Have only just found this thread, will watch with interest. So glad you have the little Velo. I really enjoyed my day trip to Wales.
 
Panniers are at the powder coaters, police motorcycle radio set test fitted


Whip aerial fits on the right pannier
Pyrene fire extinguisher on the left-hand pannier
