When I had a GS I kept the gate/garage opener in the handy cubby on the tank, the RT has a slightly less accessible cubby that needs the steering moving to make it accessible, which is not ideal on a gravel drive.

Ideally I like to fit two buttons in place of the unused accessory buttons on the LHS fairing, ideally wireless.

Thanks

Can’t you just Velcro the garage door blipper thing to the bike or just put it in your pocket?

Your best answer might lie in the pub section, where you’ll probably encounter more automatic door opener blipper merchants, than in this narrow section of enquiry..... or it seems the HD section :D

Harley Davidson do one. It splices into the high-low headlight beam switch if it's any use for alternative ideas? HD Part number 91561-01B

I have a dongle in the cubby hole, it’s not ideal. I suspect its not weatherproof a previous version wasn’t, so Velcro’g isn’t going to be a workable solution.

I had tried the Google route, but nothing that fits the bill has come up yet.

The reason I put it in the RT section was, I’m looking to utilise the unused or blind buttons on the fairing, which may be the same as the 6 cylinder jobbie, but not the GSA.

Why can’t you just keep the blipper in your pocket?

The real inventive brains live in the pub.

The DIY method will work, surely? Find a suitable switch, drill a hole in the fairing edge and away you go. You could do a neater job than the bod in the film, of course. People do something loosely similar to mount heating controllers for their electric clothing.

This bod did the same thing:

This should, with a bit of adaption, work:

This is pretty similar, as it uses a cigarette lighter socket to power it.

I can keep it in a pocket, but it would be a pita, I also wear numerous jackets so an on bike solution is by far the best.

I think you might have, thanks

I have a dongle in the cubby hole,

I am definitely going to try that line out .....

Darling ... can I put my dongle in your cubby hole tonight .... :D

Receiver unit?

This thread is just filthy ......

It looks like the best solution is to hard wire two switches to a came 432 controller, which is what we use. I can buy an extra opener for £20 ish, duplicate the signals.

The main problems will be

1) identifying where to solder the wires onto the PCB.

2) purchasing the buttons that fit the fairing.

Buttons like these

Something like these
