Never a big seller , despite being fitted with the sublime K5 GSXR 1000 engine, it’s been updated for 2021.

I guess the styling is a tad sharper and the 19 litre tank is useful . Doubt they’ll sell many more than the last model though .

Quite a good review. And Chris N can ride.

When it came out the K5 was a monster and I’d guess that 3rd gear wheelies are easy on the GSX-S :beerjug:

I can remember going to the Ardennes with a poster on here when he’d just bought a new K5 and I’d just bought a new ZX10R and we were comparing top gear roll ons from 130mph which the K5 won easily but the 10R was much lighter at the front end so once we got on a more undulating surface than a motorway I could pop the front up off any bumps and his bike stayed planted to the road. Childish though it may be we both agreed the Kawasaki brought out the idiot gene more efficiently :blast

Just bought a pre- registered one, waiting on a delivery date so will report back soon

:beerjug:Another perspective from Bruce

GT version out now

Looks quite good, considering the sub £12k price. A sort of Poundland H2SX.

With the re-tuned K5 engine, that GT should be a cracker. I always wondered why they didn't do a similar job based on the old 'Busa

I'll be interested to see if it will take a top-box for the grand tour.

It’ll take a 40l roll bag which will be better for everything apart from storing a crash helmet.

GT on the Suzuki website now, includes prices for the luggage
https://bikes.suzuki.co.uk/bikes/sport/gsx-s1000gt/

2 x panniers £741.60
fitting kit £168
locks £40

brings the cost of the bike as shown in the video/photos above to £12548.60

I’ve got to admit I’m tempted by these. It’s been a long time since I last rode an in-line 4 across Europe and something capable of sitting at 100mph plus on autobahns while doing 150 miles between stops is always fun to ride. I’ve made up my mind to get rid of a couple of bikes (including the GS) and just cut things back to just a touring bike, an off road bike and the Enfield for pottering around on back roads. I’ll also keep at least one of the classics but I’d probably shift the H2 because I never use it so it’s best moved on.

I posted the above on Facebook UKRM and pinged A as this bike comes in two shades of blue :)

She said you’d told her about it but her head is all messed up because not only does it come in 2 shades of blue but it also comes in black. She still thinks her black R1 was the best looking bike she’s had.

I’ve told her the seat height is too high and I’ll continue to do so until I decide I’m not interested in one for myself 😀

She’s somewhat distracted right now and also suffering from puppy induced sleep deprivation so nothing will happen for a while.
