Extra lamps

Friend brought new a 1050 V-Strom and wishes to fit extra lamps, brought Puig spotlights ( didn't wish to fork out £500 for theirs) and wish to wire them to the ignition but was told by his dealership that no way should he wire into the electrics , it will go berserk and invalidate the warranty. Is there a way round this and can he just wire from the battery with on / off switch ? You suggests ( nice ones please) would be very welcome.

Search for wiring in additional lights and you should get up a guy who makes up the plug and play tyre of connector.

Late to the party as I have only just joined the forum.

It is possible to tap into the existing wiring loom if the bike doesn't have factory fitted heated grips.

If the grips are not fitted then hidden in the bodywork on the left side of the bike, somewhere between the tank and frame you will find a two wire lead with a plug on the end the same as the horn. It is a permanent feed once the ignition is switched on, so it is worth working an on / off switch into the circuit but this is exactly how I added some cheap ebay spot lights to my VStrom 650.
