Would like to read any views on the twin cam bikes vs LC bikes for reliability.
Do you have specific concerns?
Last of the tc air cooled bikes are a much better bet than earlier production lc bikes
Watch out if the oil cooled needs a clutch , fairly straight forward to do if you’re that way inclined and have a day spare with a garage otherwise dealer will want around £1300

Or you could use one of the excellent independent guys, such as Steptoe, Mikeyboy etc.
There’s the few weak(ish) items as mentioned but in my experience it’s the quality of the finish, or lack of it, that kills the longevity of the bike. It’ll need a strip down and paint/powder coat of the various sun frames and engine casings before other stuff wears out.

Still more complex on an air cooled 12 GS to change the clutch than on the 11/1150 series
