So, after two and a half weeks and 1,274 miles I am now a seasoned 701 Enduro rider and thought you'd like to know what I think of the bike :nenau

I have to say that you are my hero for riding it all that way on the motorway as it jay so isnt a bike for that

It was certainly perky enough on the back lanes and did look well planted despite the Knobblies

I think you are right to be jolly pleased although you lose marks for being childish in the Dartford tunnel with the exhaust :D

Good to hear you’re out enjoying the bike Andres.

They really are most rewarding to ride both on and off road.

Keep havin fun :beerjug:

Do they wheelie as eagerly as I imagine them too? I

......and that's the next stage of our journey together. I've done some easy tracks but not yet 'off roaded' her properly. First I want to replace the TKCs (at 1300 miles the rear is over half worn already) and I'm still mulling over fitting a Kouba link as even for me at 6ft it's a very tall bike...........we'll see how I get on first before commiting to that I think (and I don't want it toooooo low when I fit the SM wheels).

Yeah, likewise, I imagine they will wheelie really easily too. Problem is, I can't wheelie............ They also have TC, which of course you can turn off, but it effectively stops the front doing more than float a bit.

If you turn it off is it fully off and does it stay off? or does it re-activate itself after a period of time?

No, it stays off until you kill the ignition, then it re-sets and would need turning off again on start up.

There are two 'maps'

1. Full lean sensitive ABS & TC on both wheels (for road use)

2. ABS on front. No ABS on back and less intrusive TC allowing for some rear wheel slip (for off road use)

You can also, independently, turn off all ABS and turn off all TC.

All of the above has it's own dedicated button (ie no 'menu' to scroll through as with big bikes) so very easy to set on the fly or when starting up.

I was guiding a group in mid Wales all weekend on some VERY tough routes, one of the guys who's a talented rider was on this beaut......although by Sunday teatime it was a bit bent, it's no 525 that's for sure but coped brilliantly :beerjug:
