There is no point in me getting an XT as it won’t mount onto my 1600.

I am sure RAM has a solution - looking at

you can't use the same as I use on my RS as you have the extra buttons on the left (R & lamp) but they do something that would go on the clutch or brake reservoir

Certainly something to consider if your Nav 6 dies rather than replacing it with the same old tech.

I hear you Wessie. The words, ‘Won’t mount onto’ were of course inaccurate. The great thing about the 1600 is that you (or at least I) don’t have to go bolting stuff onto it like a demented 1250 owner.

I was hoping that the revamped Nav VI might have the improved BlueTooth that the XT offers but, so far at least, nobody has reported that it does.

If you did end up with an XT at some point there's an installation video on YouTube where a guy installs one over the top of the Nav6 mount using spacers. That might also work on the K1600.

Thank you.

Friend of mine bought the above to fit the XT on his new GS. Works pretty well to be honest, quick and easy to install.

I've just bought one to use on the RT with a Tomtom, now just waiting for the new Rider550 to arrive from Helmet City. :D
