Eating/drinking places in the Shrewsbury area advice?

My biker mates and I have tentatively planned to be based at the Premier Inn, Harmer Hill, Shrewsbury. This is plan B after we resigned ourselves that our Black Forrest trip will need to be postponed for yet another year. Whilst we can eat at the Bridgewater Arms pub next door we would like to try maybe some other local pubs with good food either in Shrewsbury or the surrounding area a short taxi ride distance (don't plan to drink and ride in the evenings). Can anyone local in the area suggest any good places to eat? Thank you

This is a lovely pub, right on the river Dee. 30mins from where you are but worth it on a nice evening.

On the banks of the River Severn in Shrewsbury try the Armoury, Victoria Quay by Welsh Bridge or the Boathouse, New St by Port Hill Suspension Bridge.
Both in easy walking distance from the town centre (where there are loads of other establishments to spoil you).
