So i bought a little tyre pump to keep in my box with the repair kit, just in case.
This Pump

This pump uses a cig lighter socket
so i also bought one of these

Today on a ride my dash starting flashing my back tyre was down to 2.2 bar
i pulled over and tried to use the above setup

The pump worked for about 1 second then went off... rinse repeat

Question is, is this the pump at fault, or a limitation of a din socket?

Ok just tried it on a car and it works great?

So its an issue with the bike?

Canbus maybe?

Edit ... SNAP

The modern GS motorcycles’ bog standard power sockets are limited to five amps.

Your pump, under load, draws more than five amps, so it trips the circuit.

Wire a flying lead to the battery and, via a fused supply (7.5 amps should be adequate) power your pump that way. Or, if your pump comes with a lead with crocodile clips, use that.

This is what I’ve done

I have a ctek battery charger and an airman pump, I use the same fly lead to maintain the battery and my tyre pressures :thumb2

I have a cig lighter socket connection to crocodile clips so can use from battery and din socket on older bikes. Ebay £4

Thanks to optimate I had 2 cables I never used.
The clips and a fused inline cable

I put the fused cable from battery to under seat see pic

And the other I cut and soldered the cig lighter plug on.

It now works like a charm :)

Looks good, dunno if they deliver to UK though.
The one I have the AA mini one is OK, but very slow lol
I've got 5 cylinders with my repair kit if all else fails

That Rocky Creek inflator looks like the one that Itchy Boots uses. Beware - not all BMW DIN sockets have the same capability. e.g. the 2021 RT has 2 sockets with combined current rating of 12A. Earlier models had a lower rating.

Has Suffolk moved out of the UK cos of Brexit? It's probably nearer to Holland but I didn't think we'd sectioned off East Anglia just yet, although it's not a bad idea
