Any Volkswagen Discover Media experts on here?

Trying to update my Official VW SD Nav card, which should, according to the internet, be free, and easy. The VW site seems to suggest it is, but I’m buggered if I can do it, I thought I could just plug the card in with the app open and do it, but it seems like I have to download, unzip, then transfer, all of which is beyond me. I was hoping to use the voice activated stuff, CarPlay and various other bits but all have to be unlocked at the main dealer. All this was included with my last car. Anyone help?

Did the wife’s Tiguan a while back, it is free but you have to download an application (I was using a PC)

Can’t remember what was involved but it was pretty simple
