Wife’s S1000xr developed an oil leak shortly after a service.
I thought it was a leak from the plug, turns out there was a hole in the casing.
This seems to be in line with kicked up gravel and stones.
As the sump was in stock, I’m guessing this is not a solitary experience.
I would say that it’s worth keeping an eye out for as if oil leaks badly it’s next port of call may be your back tyre.

After a service last year i noticed an oil stain under the bike in the garage?

I looked but couldnt see where it was coming from, cleaned the floor and left it.
floor stayed clean until i went for a ride? then i noticed oil again.

Long story short, i took the belly plate off and cleaned it, cleaned all the bottom of the engine and put back together.
not seen any oil since?

I can only think that the service mechanic at BMW is a dirty bastard and left oil all over the engine and top of engine plate.

In your case, isnt the bottom of the bike protected by the plate?
