Hello,

I've a 2010 F800GS. Wondering if anyone has opinion/advice on whether it will be OK to run E10 fuel when it comes in, or is it worthwhile trying to stick with E5?

Thanks!

Ahh, RTFM, thanks. RTFM wasn't around when the bike came out.

Gov website says it's ok, but wondered if anyone more in the know has an opinion? I know when E10 came out in germany some years back many many people avoided it, but I'm not sure why.

You bike will die, explode, rot from the inside out and your testicles will shrink. I read it all (and more) here.

...he/she'll be ok as long as stood on the footpegs the whole time

We use E10 fuel on trips in the US and it's junk. We use an octane booster and try and find non ethanol fuel when we can.

If the UK equivalent is of the same standard your bike won't like it much.

E10 gives a cooler burn - you can reduce ignition advance to give more power and increase the compression ratio.
