That’s it, really…
I fitted one years ago and decided I didn’t like it, took it off and filled the holes. I then masked it and sprayed the area it had covered matt black to hide a couple of marks and it looks much better IMO.

Being honest I would prefer an original BM one with a bit of patina rather than a glossy black cheap looking plastic copy
Ooh well now, your genuine patina doesn’t come cheap you know… 
Sorry DrF but I’m pretty sure I sold it on over 10-12yrs ago. There are parts of my garage I’ve not seen for that long though, so I’ll keep an eye out while I’m clearing it out and will let you know if I find anything.

Do they actually do anything or are they purely cosmetic?
BeaK Extender....They're great for knocking and scrapping against things that if it wasn't fitted you'd not knock or scrap against.
