Me and SWMBO have a rare day off together tomorrow so instead of our usual NY Moors or Dales visits we thought we might head into the Peaks for the day. In the car not on the bike.
It's only a day out, no overnight stay, so looking for recommendations for somewhere for a decent walk, circular ideally as we ain't got time to plan anything at such short notice , with time to stop for food somewhere en route would be good.
Any recommendations appreciated.
Thanks.

I’ve got a book that you can borrow if you want to call in for it. Adventurous Pub Walks in the Peak District by Charles Wildgoose. 8 to 10 mile circular routes with A pub stop around half way and detailed directions.

Bakewell, Buxton and Hathersage are nice places to go and have a look at and a cuppa.

Chatsworth Estate. You can walk around the gardens or visit the house. Haddon Hall also worth a look.

Someone with proper knowledge will be along with suggestions I'm sure.

Peaks

Pleasant 6 miles around one of the reservoirs and surrounding area , water very low, lots of trees with roots exposed.
A few pics but which reservoir was it?

Right area Mick but not Ladybower. Parked in Low Bradfield and walked round Dale Dike and Agden reservoirs and passed the memorial to the victims of the dam breach in 1851.
Food very good at The Plough in Low Bradfield.

Yep should have go that - thye do 2 for 6 or 7 quid in week too
There were a load of mandarin ducks up there earlier on in the year

Glad the links were of help.

Lots of great walks in Derbyshire and did many with my late wife.

I have started going again recently with my brother-in-law, doing circular walks around Dove Dale and Monsal Head.

Regular favourites were around Ladybower (Win Hill etc) and food at the Yorkshire Bridge Inn (stayed in their holiday lets as well).

Loop walks around Hathersage resulted in food at the Mellor's cutlery factory.

Weather permitting I will be riding my G/S to a classic meet in Matlock tomorrow lunch time.

Gerry
