We then got off the M90 at Perth and made our way up over the Cairngorms past Scone Palace, onto Blairgowrie to Glenshee & the ski route

On to Braemar and the rain started to a torrential beat, quick stop at Balmoral to pay our respect and onto Ballater, via the backroads, south of the Dee

We stayed here last night, at Torland and can thoroughly recommend it - great rooms and food

The others travelled north to their hotel, but as I needed to be home tomorrow night, I headed south towards Garve

Staying tonight beneath the Loch Glascarnoch in the highlands at Aultguish Inn

Short and sweet, but Scotland has some of the best riding roads in Europe

Nice one John. :thumb2

I stayed at a nice hotel in South Queensferry when I was commissioning a gas platform my company was having built near there.

It's not, you know... https://www.facebook.com/groups/200177156757066

It was definitely open and busy when I was round at my son's place which is behind it, a couple of weeks ago.

Hound Point...? That was c. '93. Which hotel did you stay in..? I lived in SQ between '78 and 2012.

You would have been living there. :thumb2

I think the hotel was the Orocco - nice view from the restaurant. I moved from the Dakota on the old bridge as it was a bit soulless.

The job was over the water at BiFab about 2008 - accommodation module for the Judy Platform I think - if my memory hasn't failed. :D
