To round this trip up, Day 6;
We stayed in Prestwick the previous night, the only part of Britain Elvis Presley ever visited I was informed uh hu
After a good breakfast we loaded up once more and set off along the coast passing through Trump town or Turnberry as it appears on the map, no pics but it looks completely out of place
Then we headed away from the coast and South West Coast 300 towards the Galloway forest park passing through Barrhill and onto Newton Stewart, there is some great riding to be had here, well surfaced and endless curve after curve, this area is well worth a visit in it's own right and worth bearing in mind for a future visit. Just one pic today at a village store/Post Office/Cafe
We followed the coast road towards Gretna Green and from there on it was motorway down to a point just South of The Lake District, a means to an end to facilitate a shorter ride home the next day (Thursday) of around 4 hours as opposed to 6 hours on the way up. We stopped the night in a place Called Ferraris Country Hotel in Longridge, facilities were good, the waitress service in the garden was excellent and soon the trip was done, all that remained for us was a slog down the M6 M5 M50 home.
Thanks to all the guys who made the trip a memorable one, thank you to Scotland for providing the hospitality and warmth, the good weather and just for being awesome
Is it right to call a 950cc bike a "little bike" ? In this company it was down between 250-300cc but it performed fantastically, sipping fuel, proving comfortable on the long stretches and thoroughly entertaining in the twisties, I love this bike
I'll finish up with a Sunset pic taken by Sean in Mallaig looking back towards Skye
