I had the original 2015 XR it was brilliant and a bit mad really
I had the pleasure of a 40 odd mile bike swap ride in Wales last week on the latest incarnation of the S1000XR
I had forgotten what a good bike it is although I described it as reuniting with a long lost friend who has kicked his crack habit
They seem to have managed to dial out the barking mad hooligan part and replaced it with subtle and super smooth power
The suspension is better than the original
The biggest revelation was the Hayes brakes - they are phenomenally good - so much stopping power with such little effort
No longer for me but a bloody good bike and I do think the latest version is a big step forward
