So they are going to split the 1200 range like they did the 900 with both Road & Off Road variants

Just a shame they've fitted that wanky crank in all of them :blast

Popped into my dealer today as they were selling clothing at 50% off and I like Triumph kit….

He reckons it will be at the NEC and in dealers for March 22

Full reveal at midday on Tuesday 7th December according to the Trumpet web site.

I'm quite interested in this model. I've a hankering for a change from my 1200GS that I've had for 13 years, so will be good to finally see it and read the reviews.

Yes and the bloody awful display screen

Interested in your comments.

I appreciate that a test ride will be the only way to see if the T plane is for me, but why did it provoke such a negative reaction from you (and others)?

On the TFT, I have no experience of them. My 08 GS is the most modern (that should be newest :augie) bike I've got. Is it just the 900 GT screen or TFT generally that you have a problem with? I ask as it's sure to be carried over to the 1200.

The engine is very vibey at motorway speeds with the worst vibrations coming through the handlebars

Around town and up to 65mph it's perfectly fine but at 75 - 90mph it's bloody awful. I just don't understand why they fitted that crankshaft in to what is essentially a road going bike. If they had fitted it to the Rally & Rally Pro then left the GT versions alone they'd have had my money but no. They had to change it for changes sake :blast

The screen:

At the time of test I had a 2019my 765RS Street Triple and the screen was like this clear and precise :thumb2

Now take a look at this Triumph video

Triumph also fucked up the 2020> Street Triple screens too by making them far too cluttered :blast

Thanks for the feedback.

If the 1200 is still vibey, maybe it will be at even higher road speeds, in which case it possibly wouldn't be such an issue for a law abiding citizen like me :nenau :augie

As a luddite with no prior TFT experience maybe that also wouldn't be such a problem for me, but the 900 display seems underwhelming and at the same time a bit style over substance. If I understand the video correctly it looks like on 3 of the 4 settings you have 2 sets of rev counters, which seems strange.

Let's see what next Tuesday, the reviews, and a subsequent test ride brings.
