Serow Newby Handlebar Question

Just picked up a 1996 Serow,

Has road tyres and lower handlebars, elderly gent using it on road as his last hurrah.

Tyres I'll probably buy Michelin Trekkers.

If anyone here has a Serow could they give me rough idea of handlebar sizes so I can get some more dirt orientated ones.

Seen these on eBay but not sure if they are near std sizes or not.

Did the previous owner leave the original cables in place when he fitted the lower bars?

Hopefully so, or you may need to budget for new (longer) cables too.
